In my research i see that most Dr’s encourage you to wait 3-4 weeks before engaging in sex. Unfortunately i was only able to wait 2 weeks. I felt great, no complications, but we decided to use a more gentle approach to reach orgasm (her hands). Do you think that we screwed up, as we were assuming that 3 weeks was more for the rough approach that intercourse offers. Would i feel any kind of pain if we caused a problem at the point of reference?

Dear drivemewilder,
Thanks for visiting the forum. Great question. You are probably fine. I recommend folks abstain from sex for 3 weeks mostly to avoid the relative “trauma” of good ‘ole-fashioned sex that could break apart the fine surgical threads we use for a vasectomy reversal that are only 1/3 the diameter of an eyelash. “Gentle” manual stimulation probably was fine (with that said, use your best judgment, be reasonable and don’t go too wild with the manual stimulation smile ) I have had a guy who had “wet dreams” (ejaculating during sleep) soon after surgery, and it did not hurt the surgery.
Hope this helps.
Happpy Thanksgiving !!!!
Warm regards,
Dr. K
